Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, has denied the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar the use of Adokiye Ameisimaka Stadium for the presidential rally slated for February 11.
In a letter seen by BulletinNG, Wike, through the Commissioner, Ministry of Sports, Barrister Christopher Green, said the reason for the denial is that the PDP Presidential Campaign Council is working with some faction of the APC in the state.
Green said the decision was taken over an alleged plot by the campaign to share the venue with a “violent” faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Tonye Cole, the Rivers APC governorship candidate.
