The crack in the Rivers State House of Assembly appears to have widened as the faction loyal to Governor Fubara followed his order on Monday to commence sitting inside Government House as against the previous sitting venue.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara had on Friday issued an Executive Order Relocating the Sitting of the Rivers State House of Assembly to Government House pending when renovation works are completed at the Assembly Chamber which was set ablaze few months ago.
The first legislative activity carried out by the Pro-Fubara lawmakers inside the new Government House venue was the screening and confirmation of a Commissioner nominee, Mr. Dagogo Iborona as member of the Rivers State Executive Council.
Iborona, SAN is from Okrika local government area for the State.
Speaker, Victor Oko-Jumbo before reading the correspondence from the Governor commended him for providing an alternative venue for the House to conduct its legislative sitting until when the hollowed chambers is rebuilt.
Based on the Governor’s pronouncement, the House Leader and member representing Ahoada West constituency, Sokari Good Sokari moved a motion for the adoption of the auditorium of the administrative block in government House as the Hallowed Chamber of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The motion was seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Adolphus Timothy, Member representing Opobo/Nkoro Constituency.
