The general statement about police brutality have flied over the air, so it no more a news. The point must be duly corrected and the anti social behaviour by the police must be duly addressed. Till today nothing possible have tangibly done so far to rectify the course of the action nor the action itself. The police brutality just keep growing like a tumour.

To quickly dive into the purpose of this write-up. People clamouring over the police frequent action seems to have blindfolded people sight about uncountable inappropriate manners, deeds, conduct and behaviour that people have done towards this men in uniform. Seun kuti’s Case is just a snippet of people abnormal and inhumane conduct towards the police men. What about hundred of it that is uncoverd by camera. Things ought not get out of hands before we reason as a sensitive human being. Not all fault lies in police men’s hand, we should start to reason. The fact that, this uniform men also have their fault is undoubtable , the fault too is undebatable and it is widely known. But it is high time to shift our sided glass, so that things can be seen clearly beyond our myopic sight.

The primary function of this men in uniform is to safeguard and protect the masses. Till now people found it difficult to believe the epigramatic wordings of ‘police is your friend’ . Plainly , the wordings is true and realistic. But the masses mind of conviction see it otherwise. The hatred people have nutured against this men in uniform is too much and it’s overwhelming alarming has caused, so many damages against the saint soul of the police officials.

It is better said than to be ignored , alots of sceneros which ensued in the past and recent occurrences that keep happening till today that Showcase , how some people keep threatening and frustumg the primary function of the police officials will bow you submissively to change your mind-set about myopic view against the men in uniform. The improper act that have been commited against them can not be easily write-off.

Here are some scenarios of inappropriate actions that people have done against police officers in Nigeria:

I) Assault and Physical Violence: Some individuals have physically attacked police officers, causing harm or injury.

ii) Mob Violence: In certain situations, mobs have targeted police officers, leading to assaults, harassment, and even lynching.
iii) Verbal Abuse and Insults: Police officers have faced verbal abuse, insults, and derogatory remarks from individuals during encounters.

iv) Disrespect and Disregard for Authority: Some individuals have displayed a lack of respect towards police officers, refusing to comply with their instructions or disregarding their authority.

v) Harassment and Intimidation: A police officer receives anonymous threats and harassment messages after arresting a known criminal. The officer is subjected to intimidation tactics, such as stalking and vandalism of their personal property.

vi) Vandalism and Arson: Protesters set fire to a police station as a form of retaliation, causing significant damage to the facility and destroying vehicles parked inside.

My point of view is far away from a fictious story and it does not entails imaginary characters of people absurd behaviour against police men. All the sceneros above is a pure occurrences that happened and keep happening on the soil of Nigeria against police men.

It is better you feed your doubt and do your findings to fact-check the ugly sceneros against police men by the people of the public , which is tantamount to disrespecting the law of this great country. To burn the fact out, the improper act is quietly known it is buried in the mud not untill seun kuti’s act revealed the hidden truth about the unsual occurrences against this men in uniform.

Let start appreciating police officers, we should also work with them and feed them any necessary information for the ease living of the society. ‘police is your Friend Not your enemy’
