The National Population Commission has said there will be no public holiday during the forthcoming census, scheduled to hold between May 3 and 7, 2023. The commission stated further that everyone living in the country, including foreigners, would be counted as it urged people to make themselves available. The Sokoto Division of the Appeal Court on Friday sentenced two Chinese nationals to six years in prison for fraud and attempting to bribe officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N50 million. Meng Wei Kun and Mr. Xu Kuai were sentenced to three years in prison for each of the two counts of conspiracy, money laundering, and attempting to bribe EFCC officials by Court of Appeal Justice Abubakar Mahmud Talba.
