President Bola Tinubu has urged state governors to promptly implement the pending wage awards, emphasizing the need to alleviate economic hardships for the populace amid the ongoing determination of the new minimum wage.
Tinubu suggested that implementing these wage awards at the state level could offer significant relief without triggering inflationary pressures.
Addressing the audience in Minna during the launch of the agricultural mechanization revolution and the commissioning of the remodeled domestic terminal at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, the President stressed the importance of all states adopting the wage award.
He mentioned that the National Executive Council would also endorse this approach.
President Tinubu assured the public that measures, including student loans and other economic initiatives, would soon be implemented to alleviate hunger.
Additionally, he outlined plans for a comprehensive program to tackle challenges such as violent attacks and cattle rustling.
Tinubu pledged to inaugurate the Livestock Change program in Nigeria in the coming weeks, aiming to transform current challenges into economic opportunities.
Commending the determined efforts of the Niger state governor in driving an agricultural revolution for food security, President Tinubu expressed support for the state’s aspirations to become one of the top food producers in the country.
