Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday, dismissed two separate suits challenging the People’s Democratic Party’s primary election that produced Asue Ighodalo as the party’s governorship candidate for the Edo poll. The Federal Government on Tuesday approved 25 percent and 35 percent salary increase for civil servants across various consolidated salary structures. According to a statement signed by the Head of Press, National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission, Emmanuel Njoku, the increases takes effect on the 1st of January, 2024. The Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki says he could not risk backing Philip Shaibu to succeed him as the leader of the state. The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants in the state. The governor revealed this while commissioning the new Labour House in Edo state on Monday. According to him, the new wage comes into effect on May 1st, 2024. Premier League clubs have voted in favour of developing plans to introduce a spending cap. Sixteen clubs approved proposals for the Premier League to complete the final economic and legal analysis needed to create a spending-cap model. The model might be presented to clubs at June’s annual general meeting (AGM), and if voted through it would replace the current Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) from the 2025-26 season onwards.
