The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has lost a former commissioner for women affairs, Alhaja Ahmed Nike Taibat, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Alhaja Ahmed Nike who served under the previous administration of Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed was one of the political stakeholders of the PDP in Offa Local Government Area. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has lost his senatorial bid to the Labour Party (LP) candidate for the district, Okechukwu Ezea. Mr Ugwuanyi, who is rounding off his second term as governor, is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Enugu North Senatorial District election held on Saturday 25 February. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has lost his bid to represent the Benue North West Senatorial District in the National Assembly. Ortom, who was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the election lost to Mr. Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress, APC. A former chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Dino Melaye on Monday caused a stir at the National Collation Centre when he rejected the presidential election result declared for Ekiti State, alleging over-voting. A former chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Dino Melaye, on Monday, rejected the presidential election result declared for Ekiti State. The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has defeated his counterpart from the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu in President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina after polling the highest number of votes from the 34 LGA in the state. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Labour party candidate, Thaddeus Attah, the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives. According to Prof Funmilayo Odukoya, who is the INEC Returning Officer, Attah polled a total of 24,075 votes to defeat his main rival, entertainer, Olubankole Wellington aka Banky W of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who gathered 18,666 votes, and Mr Babjide Obanikoro of the APC, who had 16, 901 votes.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has hailed his constituents in the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency of Lagos State for electing him for the 6th term.
