In its relentless fight against terrorism in Nigeria, the Armed Forces reported significant achievements for the month of February.
According to Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, a total of 974 terrorists were neutralized, and 621 suspected terrorists and kidnappers were apprehended nationwide during the period.
Major General Buba, while briefing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, highlighted that besides these operational successes, the armed forces also recovered numerous arms and ammunition.
Furthermore, their efforts led to the successful rescue of 466 kidnapped victims in the month under review.
Emphasizing the commitment to peace, Major General Buba extended an advisory to terrorists, urging them to repent and engage in dialogue for a peaceful resolution.
He made it clear that the Armed Forces would persist in using overwhelming military force against unrepentant criminals.
These developments unfold in the context of recent events, including the Rivers State Police Command parading the remains of cult kingpin “2Baba” in connection with the murder of DPO Bako Angbashim.
In the weekly report on Armed Forces operations in January, Major General Buba previously highlighted the air component of Operation Hadin Kai’s success in eliminating three top commanders of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State on January 10.
The targeted individuals, identified as Abou Maimuna, Abou Zahra, and Commander Saleh, along with their lieutenants in a canoe, were effectively neutralized through strategic air strikes.
