Chelsea booked their spot in the Carabao Cup final with a commanding 6-2 aggregate victory over Middlesbrough, who arrived at Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 lead from the first leg.
In a dominant display, Chelsea scored four first-half goals, including a Jonny Howson own goal, strikes from Enzo Fernandez, Axel Disasi, and Cole Palmer.
Palmer netted his second, and Noni Madueke added to the tally, with Morgan Rogers scoring a consolation for Middlesbrough.
The win secures Chelsea’s place at Wembley on February 25, where they will face the winner of the Liverpool vs. Fulham semi-final. Liverpool currently holds a 2-1 lead in their tie.
In the semi-final second leg, Mauricio Pochettino’s side leveled the aggregate score after 15 minutes when Ben Chilwell’s precise through ball found Armando Broja, and Howson’s own goal put Chelsea ahead.
The Blues continued to dominate, with goals from Enzo, Disasi, and Palmer, showcasing their attacking prowess.
Despite a late consolation goal from Rogers, Chelsea’s comprehensive victory had already sealed their place in the final.
