The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has arranged a pre-tournament training camp for the Super Falcons in Spain from July 5 to 16 in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The initial plan was for the nine-time African champions to hold a foreign or local camp in the ongoing FIFA women’s international window between May 28 to June 4, during which Falcons coach Randy Waldrum sought to do an open screening for his new additions ahead of the competition.
During the camp, the Super Falcons are scheduled to take on one of the high-profile teams in Group A, featuring hosts France, Canada, New Zealand and Colombia.
The Super Falcons are making a return to the multi-sport event for the first time in 16 years thanks to a nervy 1-0 aggregate triumph over reigning African champions South Africa.
Nigeria has been drawn against reigning world champions Spain, Japan and South American champions Brazil in Group C at the Olympics which is scheduled to hold from July 25 to August 10.
The West Africans will open their campaign against Brazil at Stade de Bordeaux on July 25 before taking on Spain three days later in Nantes.
They will play Japan on July 31 at the same venue.
