The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, will meet with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF on Thursday to review the country’s campaign in the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Recall that the Minister on Tuesday demanded a detailed technical report from the NFF and summoned them to a meeting following the Super Eagles shocking 2-1 loss to Benin Republic in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire on Monday.
Media Aide to the minister, Kola Daniel confirmed Wednesday evening that Senator Enoh would meet with NFF Executives Thursday morning at the Media Center of Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja to review what has gone wrong and discuss possible ways to relaunch Nigeria’s bid to qualify for the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
The Super Eagles are currently 5th in Group C having garnered only three points from four matches.
Leaders Rwanda, South Africa and Benin Republic are four points clear of Nigeria with 7 each while Lesotho are the fourth with four points.
Zimbabwe are bottom of the group with 2 points.Only the group winners will qualify automatically for the World Cup.
