Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh has denied any involvement in getting a new coach for the Super Eagles.
This comes after reports that the Minister and Nigeria Football Federation President, Ibrahim Gusau were in England to search for a new Super Eagles coach.
The Minister however debunked the reports during his interactive session with Sports Writers in Abuja on Thursday.
Senator Enoh said although he did travel to England, it was to seek for sponsors for Nigerian sports not a coach for the Super Eagles.
He insisted that getting coaches for the national teams is totally an NFF affair.
He however added that he urged the NFF to get a good and capable coach for the Eagles who will against all odds qualify the country for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as well as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Senator Enoh said it is important to note that, at this time, Nigerian sports needs financial support to elevate it to where it ought to be.
