At least 12 coaches have officially applied for the post of Super Eagles head coach recently declared vacant by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF following the expiration of the contract of Portuguese tactician, Jose Peseiro.
Dsily Post reports that those that applied include former Golden Eaglets and Tanzania coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh and one of Peseiro’s assistants, Finidi George.
Nigerian-American, Michael Nsien, who is currently the head coach of United States Under-19 team, Sylvanus Okpala, who was an assistant to former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi and former Flying Eagles, Olympic Eagles and Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia, have also applied.
Others who submitted their application are former Supers Eagles captain and assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi, Salisu Yusuf, Ndubuisi Egbo and Portuguese coach, Antonio Conceicao.
The NFF is expected to appoint a new head coach for the Super Eagles before the team’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
