The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL has sanctioned Enyimba International and Enugu Rangers for breaching its framework and rules in their Matchday 35 encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.
BSN Sports reports that the League governing body has also awarded three points and three goals to Rangers and fined Enyimba the sum of 10 million naira for breaching the frameworks.
Recall that the Oriental Derby was abandoned following the controversial penalty awarded to the home team, Rangers in the dying minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, Rangers have been fined 5 million Naira for various offences, including non-provision of adequate security, encroachment on to the pitch by fans and other unauthorized persons as well as sales of tickets to spectators more than the stadium capacity leading to encroachment of the pitch.
Both clubs have 48 hours to appeal the decisions.
With this, Rangers consolidated top spot on the NPFL table with 64 points from 35 matches while Enyimba stay second with 59 points followed by Remo Stars also on 59.
