The Nigeria Golden Arrows secured a notable victory by defeating Cameroon 33-25 in a classification match on Friday, claiming the President’s Cup and securing a ninth-place finish at the Africa Men’s Handball Nations Cup in Egypt.
Under the guidance of coach Rafiu Salami, the team showcased a strong start, dominating the first half with a scoreline of 15-12.
The momentum continued in the second half, where key players such as Faruk Yusuf, Hakeem Salami, Daniel Bello, and Obinna Anih seized opportunities to score crucial goals, securing a 33-25 triumph.
Yusuf, operating as a right back, stood out and earned the title of the most valuable player of the match.
With this victory, Nigeria clinched the President’s Trophy, culminating in a commendable 9th place in the nation’s cup standings.
Throughout the tournament, the Golden Arrows participated in six matches, emerging victorious in four and experiencing two defeats.
