Technical Director, Monday Odigie returned to the Bendel Insurance set up as the club played out an impressive 1-1 draw away to Kwara United in Ilorin in a Match-Day 29 encounter in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Sunday.
Odigie had not been with the club since their 2-0 loss to Plateau United in Jos on the 3rd of March leading to speculation that he has left the team.
But the management of Bendel insurance insisted the coach was still in charge as he informed the club before he travelled.
This was confirmed with the return of Odigie to the bench on Sunday.
Meyinwa Oritseweyinmi put Insurance in front in the 25th minute after picking up a cross from Evans Ogbonda.
Kwara United got the equaliser in the 63rd minute through Ejeh Isaiah when he converted a penalty.
The draw was a positive result for Insurance who lost their 17-year unbeaten home record on Wednesday after suffering a shock 3-1 defeat to Niger Tornadoes at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Bendel Insurance who now have 38 points will host Kano Pillars in their next game in Benin City.
In other NPFL matches played over the weekend, Lobi Stars beat Enyimba International 1-0 whileHeartland defeated Sporting Lagos 3-1.
Katsina United halted the 10-match unbeaten run of Enugu Rangers with a 4-3 win at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium while Sunshine Stars and Bayelsa United settled for a 1-1 draw in Akure.
Niger Tornadoes spanked Gombe United 5-0 as Plateau United thumped Doma United 4-0 and Remo Stars edged Akwa United 2-1.
The match between Abia Warriors and River United was postponed due to Rivers’ engagement in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Kano Pillars will host Shooting Stars Sports Club on Monday at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
