Nigeria’s Falconets suffered a 3-1 loss to Germany in their second match in Group D of the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia, Thursday morning.
The Germans took the lead in the 17th minute through Alara Sehitler.
The Falconets got the equalizer in the 50th minute courtesy of Chiamaka Okwuchukwu.
However, just 11 minutes later Germany were back on top as Sofie Zdebel put them 2-1 up.
With Nigeria pushing for a late equalizer, Germany grabbed their third goal with a counter attack finished off by Sarah Ernst.
The result means Germany progressed to the Round of 16 while Nigeria who beat South Korea 1-0 in their first game, will also advance with a win against Venezuela in their final group match.
