President Bola Tinubu; former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; Presidential candidate of Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi; some state governors, House of Representatives members; Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN; corporate organisations and some prominent individuals have felicitated Muslim Ummah across the country on this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In their separate messages, they urged Muslims to sustain the lessons of Ramadan and continue to pray for the peace and unity of the country.
In his Sallah message, President Tinubu congratulated Muslims across the country and prayed that their supplications and sacrifices this season and even after will receive the fitting rewards from Almighty Allah
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said: “The President greeted the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and all around the world, praying that their supplications and sacrifices this season and even after will receive the fitting rewards from Almighty Allah.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in his congratulatory message to Muslims, stated that the completion of Ramadan should cause a reflection on those in positions of authority to show more compassion to the people.
Atiku in a statement by his Media Office, in Abuja, yesterday said: “For many Nigerians who observed the mandatory Ramadan fasting this year, the reality of the harsh economic environment in the country put many families and individuals under intense pressure.
The Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Mr Peter Obi, yesterday enjoined Muslims to seek Allah’s intervention in Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
Obi noted that it is discomforting the amount of blood being shed in the country daily and asked that the situation be taken to Allah for his prompt intervention.
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, yesterday congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state and the nation on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, urging them to continue to exhibit the lessons of Ramadan, including the virtues of love, tolerance, and perseverance to move the state and Nigeria forward.
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, yesterday admonished Nigerians to have hope for a better Nigeria with prayers from both Christians and Muslims.
Similarly, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, yesterday, felicitated the Muslim Ummah in the state on the completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State also urged Muslims not to stop praying for his administration while calling for unity and peaceful coexistence among all residents of the state.
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State in his Sallah message urged Muslim faithful not to relent but intensify prayers for the nation to overcome its current challenges.
The House of Representatives also felicitated with Muslims and urged that the spirit of generosity imbibed during Ramadan should be strengthened.
In a show of interfaith solidarity, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, also extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslims, emphasizing the shared values of compassion and generosity that are highlighted during the festive season.
