Explosive action continued in the UEFA Champions League Wednesday night as five-time winners Barcelona came from behind to beat Paris St-Germain 3-2 in the first leg of their quarter-final clash in France.
Brazilian winger Raphinha gave Barcelona the lead in the 37th minute sweeping home a loose ball for his first Champions League goal after Gianluigi Donnarumma could only parry a low cross.
PSG responded immediately after the break though, with former Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele firing into the roof of the net.
Vitinha then put the hosts 2-1 up in the 51st minute to send the partizan crown at the Parc de Princes into wild celebrations.
However, Rafinha silenced them when he drew the visitors level with his brace in the 62nd minute.
The winning goal for Barcelona came in the 77th minute when substitute Andreas Christensen headed home a corner from four yards after being left unmarked in the centre of the goal.
The second leg takes place in Spain on Tuesday, the 16th of April.
Elsewhere, another Spanish side, Atletico Madrid held off a late fightback from German outfit, Borussia Dortmund to win 2-1 at home.
Diego Simeone’s side made a blistering start at Estadio Wonda Metropolitano as Rodrigo de Paul put them in front in the fourth minute.
Borussia Dortmund found the going really tough and another defensive mix-up allowed wing-back Samuel Lino to put the home side 2-0 up in the 32nd minute.
The visitors improved late in the first half and substitute Sebastien Haller finally got them back in the game when he pulled a goal back in the 81st minute to end the encounter 2-1 to Atletico Madrid.
The second leg comes up on Tuesday next week.
