English giants Arsenal advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League following a hard-fought penalty shootout victory over Portuguese side, FC Porto in the second leg of the Round of 16 at the Emirates Stadium, Tuesday night.
Arsenal, who lost the first leg 1-0, won by the same scoreline on the night as Leandro Trossard scored in the 41st minute to level the tie.
Both teams could not be separated after 120 minutes so penalties were needed.
Arsenal scored all four of their kicks while Porto converted only two.
Goalkeeper David Raya was the hero for the Gunners as he saved two kicks.
Elsewhere, Nigerian sensation Victor Osimhen could not save his club Napoli as they lost 3-1 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate to FC Barcelona.
Fermin Martin gave the Spanish side the lead in the 15th minute while Joao Cancelo made the score 2-0 in the 17th.
Napoli pulled a goal back through Amir Rrahmani in the 30th minute but Robert Lewandowski sealed Barcelona’s place in the quarter-finals by netting their third goal in the 83rd minute.
