Alhassan Yusuf and William Troost-Ekong joined their Super Eagles teammates in training on Wednesday as they kick-start preparations for the Round of 16 clash against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Yusuf, who suffered a thigh injury in the opening fixture against Equatorial Guinea, missed the team’s last two group games.
However, the Royal Antwerp star is back in training.
Vice-captain Troost-Ekong, who was absent in Monday’s 1-0 victory against Guinea-Bissau due to injury, participated in the session at the Police College, Cocody.
The PAOK Salonica centre-back is expected to be fit for the upcoming game against Cameroon.
The training session, conducted behind closed doors, sets the stage for the Super Eagles’ encounter with Rigobert Song’s side at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium on Saturday.
