Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman scored a goal and provided an assist for his club Atalanta in their 3-2 defeat at home to Fiorentina in the last game of the Italian Serie A this season on Sunday.
Andrea Belotti gave Fiorentina the lead in the 6th minute when he steered the ball into the net with a diving header from inside the box.
Atalanta equalised six minutes later when Lookman received a perfectly timed through ball from Charles De Ketelaere and beat Fiorentina goalkeeper Tommaso Martinelli with a chip finish.
However, Fiorentina went back in front again in the 19th minute through Nico Gonzalez.
Lookman then set up Giorgio Scalvini for the equaliser in the 32nd minute before Belotti scored the winning goal for the visitors in added time.
Lookman who is one of the Nigerian stars being expected to join the Super Eagles camp for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic has scored 17 goals including a hat-trick in the Europa League final and provided 9 assists across all competitions for Atalanta this season.
The loss means Atalanta finish 4th on the Seria A table with 69 points while Fiorentina ended the campaign in 8th position on 60 points.
