In line with achieving the 100 Pro-Masses Agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Osun state government on Friday concluded a two-day stakeholders’ consultation for Osun state ICT policy, Osun state Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) policy and domestication of the Nigeria Start-Up Act.
The event, which held at Osun staff Development Centre, Abeere, Osogbo started on Thursday with consultation for the STI and ICT Policy, ended on Friday with consultation on the domestication of the Nigerian Startup Act and was organized by Osun State Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology.
Recall that Governor Ademola Adeleke had earlier announced in his 100 Pro-Masses Agenda that his administration is working towards ensuring that Osun state gets ICT and STI Policy.
The Governor also announced while receiving members of the Osun House of Assembly that he will soon present his first executive bill to house which is a bill to domesticate the Nigerian Startup Act.
This will make Osun the first state in Nigeria to have domesticated the Startup Act after it was passed in to law in October 2022.
According to the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Mr Muritala Jimoh, participants at the consultation were drawn from across major sectors in Osun to review the policies together and make recommendations for a review.
“We have put together this consultation program to ensure that stakeholders in Osun are involved in the process of giving Osun an ICT policy, STI Policy, and also to domesticate the Nigeria Startup Act.
“With this, Osun will become the first state in Nigeria to have domesticated the Nigerian Startup Act, which is a good feat for Governor Ademola Adeleke, Osun is indeed lucky.
“We have carefully selected all of you participants to join us in reviewing policies and our Startup Act and ensure that we deliver on it as expected because it is in the mandate of Governor Ademola Adeleke that we deliver this before his first 100 days in office”, he said.
