Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has approved a new minimum wage of N70,000 for civil servants in the state.
He made the announcement on Saturday during the grand finale of the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival, stating, “I have directed the relevant government authorities to outline the procedures for implementing the new minimum wage, starting in September.
The governor also expressed disappointment over the slow pace of government projects awarded to prominent state leaders, particularly the housing estates in the Izo autonomous community of Ishielu Local Government Area.
