Nigerias senior womens basketball team, DTigress suffered a second consecutive warm-up game loss when they were beaten by Serbia in Belgrade on Sunday.
D’Tigers who lost their first friendly game 77-63 to Germany on Friday, were beaten 70 points to 62 by Serbia who are ranked 10th in the world by Federation of International Basketball Associations, FIBA.
The Africa Champions who are managed by Rena Wakama started the game against Serbia slowly and trailed by six points in the first quarter which ended 21-15.
Serbia took a 10-point lead into the halftime break after winning the second quarter 18-14.
D’Tigress began a charge in the third quarter, levelling things at 18-18 before winning the last quarter 15 points to 13.
The Nigerian team will play their final warm-up game against Japan on July 24 in Lille France, before the start of the basketball event at the Olympics from July 26 to August 11.
Nigeria face a tough test against Canada, Australia and hosts, France in group B.
D’Tigress who are record four consecutive winners of the FIBA Afrobasket Women’s Championship and are ranked 12th in the world, will be punching above their weight in Paris, with their first opponents, Australia, ranked third in the world.
Canada are fifth with France seventh.
