Super Eagles and Bayern Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, has been suspended for one game by the German Football Federation.
The suspension is for anti-sporting conduct against Stuttgart after the German Super Cup which Bayer Leverkusen won on penalties.
The striker pointed his middle finger to Stuttgart players after the match.
In addition to the one game ban, the 23-year-old will also pay a fine of 23,000 Euros for the misconduct.
Boniface will not feature in the next German Cup match that Bayer Leverkusen will play.
However, he will be available for the champions’ first league game of the season against Borussia Monchenglabach on Friday.
Boniface joined Bayer Leverkusen last season and went on to score 14 goals, helping the team to win the Bundesliga title for the first time in their history.
They were unbeaten throughout the season, the first German club to achieve that feat and also reached the final of the Europa League where they suffered their only loss against Italian side, Atalanta.
