Mr Ali Bello, a nephew of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has been remanded in a correctional centre over charges bordering on criminal misappropriation and money laundering. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday arraigned Bello before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court, Abuja. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday, awarded a fine of N4 million against two civil servants that were found guilty of receiving exotic cars as gifts from an associate of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke, Mr. Jide Omokore. The family of an undergraduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Samuel Omolaye, has accused the management of the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta, Lagos, of negligence resulting in his death at the facility in Lagos State. Access Bank has shut down some of its branches in Lagos State due to scarcity of naira notes and fear of been attacked by angry customers. The Lagos State Police Command said it has uncovered plans by some groups of persons to take advantage of the new Naira notes scarcity to unleash violence in some parts of the State.
